This morning we honored nearly 40 students as Distinguished Dolphins for the month of October. These students were recognized as showing one of the 24 character strengths from our Positivity Project. We are so proud of these young people and can’t wait to see how they continue to act as leaders at DES!

Miss Younce’s class is studying how climate affects how people live. The students showed how climate can affect your home by creating plans for houses in different climates and then building them!

Congratulations to Mr. Adam Berry for being named Pizza Inn Teacher of the Month for Dacusville Elementary. Mr. Berry is in his first year with us at DES. He came to us from Greenville County and has been a true asset to our school. Mr. Berry is a team player and has gone above and beyond to do whatever is needed to ensure student success! Way to go Mr. Berry!

Miss Cole’s class doing all things pumpkin! Working on fine motor skills by hammering into the pumpkin. We have been learning about the parts of a pumpkin and got to play with the insides of it. Started the week by talking about what shapes we can use to give our pumpkin a face!

My class took advantage of the beautiful weather and did our reading time outside!

Fall Festival Friday

Our students have been studying biotic and abiotic factors in ecosystems. As part of our ecosystem unit, we took a nature walk to look at living and non-living things. The students made notes about the local plant and animal life around the school using what they know about what characteristics or functions all living things have.

Cake Donations needed for our Fall Festival Friday, October 20.

We are so proud of our students, teachers, faculty and staff, as well as our parents and community members who all worked collaboratively last year to help our students grow and achieve at very high levels. We increased from Average to Good in the Student Achievement aspect of the State Report Card from 2022 to 2023 and our overall score increased 3 points. We were just .55 points away from receiving an Excellent rating this year. #dacusvillegrown #growthmindset #wewillbeexcellent2024

Mrs.Stone and Ms. Bosch’s classes worked together to put the causes of the Revolutionary war in order this week.
